After winning the toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson opted to bowl first—and the decision paid off immediately. The Royals’ bowlers came out firing, reducing CSK to 78 for 5 within 7.4 overs. Chennai’s top-order batters faltered under pressure, barring young Ayush Mhatre, who once again stood out with a brisk 43 off just 20 balls.

Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube then stepped up to revive the innings. Brevis smashed 42 runs from 25 balls, while Dube anchored the middle overs with a patient 39 off 32 deliveries. Their partnership helped CSK recover from their early collapse to post 187 for 8 in 20 overs.

For Rajasthan, both Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh were exceptional, claiming three wickets apiece. Tushar Deshpande and Wanindu Hasaranga chipped in with one wicket each.

Let’s take a look at RR’s Chase

Chasing 188, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 37 runs for the first wicket in just 3.4 overs. Jaiswal continued his fine form, scoring 36 off 19 balls before falling, but the real partnership came between the 14-year-old sensation Suryavanshi and captain Samson.

The duo stitched together a 98-run stand for the second wicket. Suryavanshi dazzled again with another mature knock, hitting 57 off 33 balls. Samson complimented him well with a composed 41 off 31 balls.

With this result, RR remained at ninth place on the points table, ending their season with eight points from 14 matches and a net run rate of -0.549. CSK, meanwhile, remain at the bottom of the table with just six points from 13 games and a net run rate of -1.030. They will conclude their campaign with one final fixture against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad on May 25.
