Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad registered big wins in their final league stage matches on Sunday (May 25) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both teams managed to bundle out the opposition teams and that certainly changed the list of players with the most wickets in IPL 2025.

Noor Ahmad is the purple cap holder now with 24 wickets after 14 matches but is likely to be trumped by Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans. Noor will not play matches in IPL 2025 with CSK knocked out but Krishna will be in action in the playoffs, having picked 23 wickets so far.
Even Sai Kishore of the Titans is in the race to win the purple cap. He is in fifth place with 17 wickets to his name after 14 matches and will play at least one and a maximum of three games in the playoffs. Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakaravarthy of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) finish their IPL 2025 season in sixth and seventh places respectively, after accounting for 17 scalps each.
Other bowlers who are in the race to win the purple cap are Trent Boult of Mumbai Indians and Josh Hazlewood of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Boult has picked up 19 wickets so far while Hazlewood accounted for 18 wickets in just 10 matches and is set to feature in the playoffs.
