Yesterday’s clash between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) turned out to be a forgettable outing for most bowlers, as the batters completely dominated the game. Despite the presence of some big names like Prasidh Krishna, Jofra Archer, and R Sai Kishore, there was little impact from the bowlers.

Prasidh did manage to pick up one wicket, but Mohammed Siraj had a quiet outing, which has now cost him a place in the top 10 of the Purple Cap race. Speaking of the standings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Josh Hazlewood currently leads the Purple Cap chart with 18 wickets in 10 games.
Prasidh Krishna had the opportunity to surpass Hazlewood and reclaim the top spot, but with just one wicket against RR, he now sits second with 17 wickets from nine matches. Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Noor Ahmad holds the third position with 14 wickets in nine games.
Following him, three bowlers are tied with 13 wickets each — Harshal Patel of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in eight games, RCB’s Krunal Pandya in 10 games, and Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Trent Boult, also in 10 games.
The remaining four bowlers in the top 10 — GT’s R Sai Kishore, Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Kuldeep Yadav, MI’s Hardik Pandya, and RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar — have each taken 12 wickets in nine matches.
Notably, several other bowlers, including CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed, GT’s Mohammed Siraj, and Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) Shardul Thakur, also have 12 wickets to their names but are currently outside the top 10.
