Updated Purple Cap table after RCB vs SRH Match 65

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) played out a high-scoring encounter at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday (May 23) in the 65th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the bowlers still managed to pick 16 wickets and had a field day in the middle.

Pat Cummins, the SRH skipper, was the best bowler of the day, as he returned with figures of 3/28 in his four overs. However, his efforts couldn’t bring him into the list of top 10 bowlers with the most wickets in IPL 2025. He got stuck in the 11th place, due to the inferior bowling average than his teammate Harshal Patel.

Harshal didn’t have a great day at the office but managed to pick up the final wicket of the match as RCB were skittled for 189 runs, chasing a target of 232 runs. Courtesy of that wicket, Harshal remained in the 10th place in the purple cap race for IPL 2025. He has now picked up 16 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 25.56 and a strike rate of 15.68.

Noor Ahmad of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continues to don the purple cap with 21 wickets to his name. Prasidh Krishna is also in the race with as many wickets and is in second position.
