Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowlers dominated the qualifier 1 clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Punjab Kings on Thursday (May 29). They skittled the opposition for just 101 runs after winning the toss and opting to bowl first and then chased down the paltry target in just 10 overs with Phil Salt smashing an unbeaten half-century.

Suyash Sharma and Josh Hazlewood were the stars for RCB as they accounted for three wickets each in the clash. The latter, playing for the first time since IPL resumed, returned with figures of 3/21 to take his tally in IPL 2025 season to 21 wickets.
He has joined the purple cap race again and has jumped to third place after playing only 11 matches this season. Arshdeep Singh was another bowler who featured in the qualifier 1 and was in the race to win the purple cap.
But he returned with no wickets in the clash while defending a low total of 102 runs. He remained in fifth place with 18 wickets to his name after 15 matches. Noor Ahmad continues to don the purple cap with 24 wickets after 14 matches for Chennai Super Kings this season.
Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans is his closest competitor and will be in action against Mumbai Indians today in the Eliminator.
