The 69th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians locking horns at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday (May 26). It was a clash to seal a place in the top two and Punjab Kings were successful in doing so as they chased down the target of 185 runs easily.
While Priyansh Arya and Josh Inglis were the heroes in the chase, it was the bowlers who set up the victory for PBKS. Arshdeep Singh picked up two wickets in the final over of the innings, conceding only three runs. With his effort, he jumped to fifth place in the list of the players to pick the most wickets in IPL 2025.
He has now accounted for 18 wickets in 14 matches at an economy of only 8.56. Jasprit Bumrah was once again at his best, going for only 23 runs and picking up a wicket as well. This helped him jump to sixth place in the purple cap race. He has now picked 17 wickets in just 10 matches and his economy of 6.33 is the best by any bowler this season.
Noor Ahmad continues to be on top in the purple cap race with 24 wickets to his name but with CSK knocked out, he will not be a part of this season in the playoffs.
