Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) bowlers had a tough outing in the 44th match of the ongoing IPL 2025 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Kolkata. After opting to bat first, the visitors smashed 201/4 in 20 overs, leaving KKR bowlers clueless. However, in the last five overs, they pulled back some momentum; otherwise, things could have been worse for them.

From both teams, there are no bowlers currently in the race for the Purple Cap. Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Prasidh Krishna is still leading the race with 16 wickets in eight games, at an economy of 7.29.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Josh Hazlewood has also taken 16 wickets and is now in the second spot because he has managed those in nine games with an economy of 8.37. In the third position, Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Noor Ahmad is there with 14 wickets in nine games.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Harshal Patel is in the fourth spot as he bowled superbly against CSK in their last game. Harshal has taken 13 wickets so far in eight games. Then, in the next six positions, every bowler has taken 12 wickets each so far.
The bowlers are GT’s R Sai Kishore (eight games), Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Kuldeep Yadav (eight games), Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Hardik Pandya (eight games), RCB’s Krunal Pandya (nine games), GT’s Mohammed Siraj (eight games), and CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed (nine games). Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) Shardul Thakur has also taken 12 wickets, sitting at the 11th spot.
