Updated Purple Cap table after GT vs SRH Match 51

It wasn’t a great day for the bowlers in the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as only 12 wickets fell from both sides. Gujarat Titans faced Sunrisers Hyderabad at the venue and it was a high-scoring clash even as the hosts won it comfortably by 38 runs.

The Titans’ top three yet again starred like a routine in this game with the opening duo of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan adding 87 runs in less than seven overs. Gill slammed 76 runs while his partner scored 48 runs. Jos Buttler continued his good form to smash 64 runs as Gujarat posted a mammoth total of 224 runs in their 20 overs.

In response, SRH fought hard in the chase but were never in the hunt, much to the disappointment of their fans. They could eventually reach 186 runs in their 20 overs with Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj picking up two wickets each for the Titans. With this effort, Krishna jumped to the top of the list of bowlers with the most wickets this season.

He has now picked 19 wickets this season while his teammate Siraj has also accounted for 14 wickets and is in sixth place at the moment. Harshal Patel was in the top 10 of this list before the start of this match, but he didn’t pick up a wicket and is out of the top 10 now. Josh Hazlewood, and Trent Boult are closer to Krishna in the race for the purple cap with 18 and 16 wickets respectively.
