Lucknow Super Giants defeated Gujarat Titans in the 64th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday (May 22) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It wasn’t a great game for the bowlers as a total of 437 runs were smashed in just 40 overs and only 11 wickets fell, with the Titans bowlers accounting for only two scalps.

Arshad Khan and R Sai Kishore picked up a wicket each for the Titans and the latter jumped to seventh place in the list of players with the most wickets in IPL 2025. Sai Kishore has picked 16 wickets in 13 matches, a commendable performance from the left-arm spinner. Prasidh Krishna went wicketless and also conceded 44 runs in his four-over spell, only to lose his top spot.
Noor Ahmad of Chennai Super Kings is the new purple cap holder with 21 wickets to his name in 13 matches at an average of 18.42 and an economy of 8.41. Trent Boult is in third position with 19 wickets while Josh Hazlewood is fourth after accounting for 18 scalps in just 10 matches. The Aussie fast bowler is expected to join RCB ahead of the playoffs and will be in the race to win the purple cap.
Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai Indians is fifth on this list after picking up 16 wickets in just nine matches and if MI are to go all the way, he will have to pick as many wickets as possible.
