He finished with figures of 4/32 in three overs to storm into the purple cap race of IPL 2025. Chahal has now accounted for 13 scalps in 10 matches and is in seventh position. Khaleel Ahmed of CSK picked up two wickets and has climbed to fourth place with 14 wickets in 10 outings.
His teammate Noor Ahmad also scalped one wicket to stay in third place with 15 wickets in 10 matches so far in the ongoing IPL season. Arshdeep Singh of PBKS also entered the top 10 list of bowlers with most wickets with two scalps against CSK. He is in eighth place now with 13 wickets in 10 matches so far.
Josh Hazlewood of RCB is still on top with 18 scalps in 10 matches while Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans is following him with one wicket less. Mitchell Starc of DC, Krunal Pandya of RCB and Varun Chakaravarthy of KKR are the other bowlers on the list at fifth, ninth and 10th place respectively.
