IPL 2025: Updated points table after SRH vs MI Match 41

Mumbai Indians continued their resurgent run in IPL 2025 with a clinical seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 41, chasing down 144 in just 15.4 overs. This marks Mumbai's fifth win of the season, pushing them to 10 points and strengthening their playoff push in a tightly packed mid-table scenario.

Sunrisers, after being put in to bat, struggled to find momentum during their innings. Heinrich Klaasen provided the lone resistance with a solid 71 off 44 balls, while Abhinav Manohar added 43 from 37 deliveries. Despite these efforts, regular breakthroughs by Mumbai's disciplined bowling attack restricted them to a below-par total of 143 for 8. Trent Boult was the standout bowler with figures of 4 for 26, while Deepak Chahar delivered a tight spell, picking up 2 wickets for just 12 runs.

Mumbai’s response was swift and commanding. Rohit Sharma continued his fine form with a fluent 70 off 46 balls, anchoring the chase with elegance. Suryakumar Yadav added an explosive 40 not out from 19 balls, while Will Jacks contributed 22. The Mumbai batting unit made the target look easy, reaching it with 26 balls to spare and securing a convincing victory.

This win builds on their dominant performance in Match 38 against Chennai Super Kings, where they chased down 176 with ease. Rohit Sharma scored a brisk 76 off 45 balls, and Suryakumar Yadav played a match-winning knock of 68 not out from 30 deliveries. Their partnership crushed Chennai’s bowling unit and showed clear signs that Mumbai is hitting top form at the right moment.

The updated points table reflects Mumbai's upward momentum. With 10 points and a net run rate of 0.673, they now sit in third position behind Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, both with 12 points. The playoff race is heating up with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants all tied with Mumbai at 10 points.

For Sunrisers, the defeat adds to an already difficult season. With only two wins in eight matches and a negative net run rate of minus 1.361, their chances of qualification are rapidly diminishing. Chennai Super Kings face similar struggles, also stuck at four points.

As the league enters its business end, Mumbai's timing of form could not be better. With consistent performances from their senior players and a confident bowling unit, they are emerging as strong contenders for a playoff spot.
