IPL 2025: Updated Points Table after SRH vs DC Match 55

The 55th match of the ongoing IPL 2025 ended with no result as rain struck ahead of the start of the second innings, and the game was eventually called off. As a result, both teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC), were awarded one point each. Unfortunately, it also ended SRH’s chances of making the playoffs this season.

In front of the home crowd in Hyderabad, SRH bowlers did well to restrict DC to 133/7 in 20 overs. Pat Cummins led the bowling unit from the front, picking up three wickets — all in the powerplay overs. 

It was some counter-attacking batting from DC’s impact sub, Ashutosh Sharma, and Tristan Stubbs’ unbeaten 41 that helped DC reach that total. But due to rain, SRH did not get any opportunity to bat.

With this one point, SRH are now in eighth position with seven points in 11 games, with a net run rate of -1.192. Now, the best they can do is to spoil some top team’s chances for the playoffs and try to end the season on a high with a few wins.

For DC, after such a poor batting display, the one point might turn out to be crucial. With three more matches to play, the best path to a playoff spot would be to win all of them and take their tally to 19 points, which should be more than enough. 

But at the very least, they need two wins out of the remaining three games. Currently, they are in fifth spot with 13 points in 11 games, and a net run rate of +0.362.
