IPL 2025: Updated Points Table after RR vs GT Match 47

Gujarat Titans (GT) had a chance yesterday to seal a win in Jaipur and reclaim the top spot in the points table with 14 points. However, Rajasthan Royals (RR) denied them, pulling off a stunning eight-wicket victory while successfully chasing down the 210-run target with 25 balls to spare.

Yashasvi Jaiswal batted superbly, remaining unbeaten on 70 off 40 balls. Captain Riyan Parag also stayed not out, scoring 32 off 15 balls at a strike rate of 213.33. But it was the 14-year-old sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who stole the headlines. 

He smashed the second-fastest century in IPL history, reaching the landmark in just 35 balls, and eventually scored 101 off 38 deliveries at a staggering strike rate of 265.78. Vaibhav and Jaiswal shared a massive 166-run opening partnership, setting the perfect platform for the chase. 

Deservedly, Vaibhav was named the Player of the Match for his breathtaking performance. Following this win, RR have moved back to the eighth position with six points from 10 games, carrying a net run rate of -0.349. Meanwhile, GT now sit in third place with 12 points from nine games, holding a net run rate of +0.748.

Reflecting on the defeat, GT skipper Shubman Gill said: "I think they took the game away from us in the powerplay, credit to them for that. We could have done a couple of things better, but it's easy to say those things when sitting out, some chances came our way and we didn't take them. I sat out because I felt a back spasm, and didn't want to take a chance. Next match is at Ahmedabad, we've had a good run there. It was Suryavanshi's day, his hitting was tremendous and he made full use of it."
