IPL 2025: Updated points table after RCB vs PBKS Match 34

In a game that once again highlighted Punjab Kings’ growing dominance in IPL 2025, they sealed a commanding 5-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 34. Chasing a modest target of 96, PBKS rode on a composed 33* from Nehal Wadhera and a collective bowling performance to not only clinch their fifth win of the season but also leapfrog to second place on the points table.

RCB’s innings never really got going after being put in to bat first. Despite Tim David’s valiant unbeaten 50 off 26 balls, RCB collapsed to 95/9 in just 14 overs. Marco Jansen (2/10), Yuzvendra Chahal (2/11), and Arshdeep Singh (2/23) orchestrated the downfall, with consistent pressure and wickets at key intervals. No other RCB batter could cross 25, as Punjab’s bowlers put on a masterclass in discipline and variation.

In response, Punjab Kings chased down the total in just 12.1 overs, finishing at 98/5. Priyansh Arya (16 off 11) gave a brisk start, while Josh Inglis (14 off 17) played a steady hand. Although Josh Hazlewood (3/14) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/26) threatened briefly to tilt the match back in RCB’s favour, the low target didn’t allow them enough room. Nehal Wadhera stayed calm under pressure, anchoring the innings and guiding PBKS to a comfortable win with 11 balls to spare.

This win marked PBKS’s second consecutive victory, helping them move to 10 points with a Net Run Rate of +0.308. RCB, on the other hand, missed a crucial opportunity to climb up and now sit at 4th with 8 points and an NRR of +0.446. Delhi Capitals continue to top the table despite playing fewer games, while the middle of the table remains incredibly tight.
