IPL 2025: Updated Points Table after RCB vs CSK Match 52

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have one foot in the playoffs of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They registered a narrow two-run win over the Chennai Super Kings in the 52nd match of the season at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. With this win, they jumped to the top of the points table with 16 points after 11 matches with eight wins and only three losses.

The fans got to witness a thrilling encounter on Saturday (May 3) as RCB, after losing the toss, posted a mammoth total of 213 runs on the board in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli and Jacob Bethell got the team off to a brilliant start as they notched up their respective half-centuries too. Later, Romario Shepherd provided the much needed finishing kick to the innings, smashing a 14-ball fifty to propel the team past the 200-run mark.

In response, CSK also started well with their young opener Ayush Mhatre smashing 94 runs off 48 balls while Ravindra Jadeja also found his form batting at number four. He remained unbeaten on 77 runs off 45 balls. But with little to no contribution from other batters, CSK fell short in the end by just two runs in the last ball thriller.

With yet another loss, CSK stayed rooted to the bottom of the points table with as many as nine losses from 11 matches. With RCB climbing to the top, MI and GT, both have slipped a place each to second and third positions respectively.
