The IPL 2025 season continues to bring excitement, and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have further solidified their position in the standings with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 13.

This victory keeps PBKS unbeaten, securing two wins in two matches and placing them firmly in the second position on the points table. On the other hand, LSG, with just one win in three games, finds itself slipping to sixth place, needing a turnaround in its upcoming matches.
A dominant performance from the PBKS players
PBKS showcased a dominant performance against LSG, successfully chasing down a target of 171 in just 16.2 overs. Prabhsimran Singh was the standout performer with a blistering 69 off 34 balls, well supported by Shreyas Iyer, who played a composed innings of 52* off 30 deliveries.
Nehal Wadhera also contributed a steady 43* off 25 balls, ensuring PBKS’s comfortable win. Earlier in the match, LSG’s batting lineup struggled to gain momentum despite Nicholas Pooran’s 44 and Ayush Badoni’s 41. Their total of 171/7 seemed competitive initially, but PBKS’s aggressive batting approach left them with no chance.
With this result, PBKS now sits at the second spot on the points table, while LSG lags behind in sixth place.
PBKS’s bowlers also played a crucial role in restricting LSG. Arshdeep Singh led the attack with figures of 3/43, while Glenn Maxwell and Lockie Ferguson provided crucial breakthroughs. However, LSG’s bowlers failed to contain PBKS’s aggressive chase, with Digvesh Singh being the only wicket-taker, securing 2/30 in his spell.
The next match for PBKS will be a highly anticipated clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 5 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. PBKS will aim to continue their winning streak and strengthen their position at the top.
