The Indian Premier League (IPL) league stage concluded on Tuesday (May 27) with the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). RCB came up trumps in the high-scoring encounter, registering the third-highest successful run chase in the IPL's history.

With this win, RCB climbed to second place in the points table and also sealed their place in the top two. They ended the league phase of the season with 19 points, having won nine and lost four matches in 14 outings, as one of their games ended in a no result. RCB and Punjab Kings will lock horns in the first qualifier at Mullanpur on May 29.
With RCB’s win, it is now confirmed that Gujarat Titans finished in third place at the end of the league stage. They will face five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator clash, also at Mullanpur on May 30 (Friday).
As for LSG, it was their eighth loss of the season, as they ended their campaign with a loss at the hands of RCB. They finished their IPL 2025 season in seventh place after promising so much at the start of the tournament. Rishabh Pant and his men won six and lost eight matches in 14 outings. Overall, they accumulated 12 points this season and will be keen on doing much better in the next IPL season.
With the spots finally confirmed after 70 matches, RCB, PBKS, GT and MI will lock horns to win the trophy.
