IPL 2025: Updated points table after LSG vs MI Match 16

MI won the toss and opted to bowl first, aiming to restrict LSG to a manageable total. However, Mitchell Marsh played a brilliant knock, smashing 60 off 31 balls, while Aiden Markram contributed 53 off 38 balls. Their partnership helped LSG reach a solid total of 203/8 in 20 overs. Ayush Badoni’s quick 30 off 19 balls in the latter half of the innings further boosted LSG’s total.

Despite MI’s bowlers struggling, Hardik Pandya was exceptional, picking up 5 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs. Trent Boult (1/28 in 3 overs) and Vignesh Puthur (1/31 in 4 overs) provided some support, but LSG still managed to put up a challenging score.

Chasing 204, MI got off to a strong start with Suryakumar Yadav leading the charge, scoring a fantastic 67 off 43 balls. Naman Dhir (46 off 24) and Hardik Pandya (28 off 16)* tried their best to accelerate the innings. However, LSG’s bowlers, led by Digvesh Singh (1/21 in 4 overs), Shardul Thakur (1/40 in 4 overs), and Avesh Khan (1/40 in 4 overs), kept things tight, ultimately restricting MI to 191/5 in 20 overs.

For his exceptional spell, Digvesh Singh was awarded the Player of the Match. LSG’s all-round performance helped them secure their second win of the season.
