IPL 2025: Updated Points Table after KKR vs CSK Match 57

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) suffered a big blow to their IPL 2025 playoff hopes as they were beaten by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by two wickets. The loss has left KKR with only a slim mathematical chance of qualifying for the playoffs. After winning the toss, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane chose to bat first.

The team posted a competitive total of 179/6 in their 20 overs. Rahane led from the front with a solid 48 off 33 balls. Andre Russell added firepower in the middle with a quick 38 off just 21 deliveries, and Manish Pandey gave a steady finish with an unbeaten 36 off 28. Sunil Narine, opening the innings, chipped in with a valuable 26 from 17 balls.

For CSK, young spinner Noor Ahmad stood out with a brilliant four-wicket spell. Ravindra Jadeja and Anshul Kamboj also picked up a wicket each. In the chase, CSK had a poor start, losing Ayush Mhatre and Devon Conway for ducks. However, debutant Urvil Patel lit up the match with a blazing 31 off just 11 balls, smashing four fours and a six at a strike rate of over 280.

Despite his explosive cameo, KKR managed to dismiss him quickly and also removed Jadeja and Ashwin, reducing CSK to 60/5 within 5.2 overs. Just when things looked tough for CSK, Dewald Brevis stepped up with a match-changing innings.
