IPL 2025: Updated points table after GT vs RR Match 23

Riyan Parag, who has been in good form, chipped in with 26, but the middle and lower order collapsed under the pressure applied by GT's bowlers. Prasidh Krishna (3/24), Sai Kishore (2/20), and Rashid Khan (2/37) were exceptional with the ball, ensuring GT secured a convincing win.

With this victory, GT have now climbed to the second spot on the updated points table, having won 3 out of their 4 matches. They now share 6 points along with Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but their superior net run rate (+1.031) places them right behind the table-toppers DC.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, are now seventh on the table with two wins and two losses. Their negative net run rate (-0.185) could become a concern in the latter stages of the tournament if things remain tight.

As the league phase intensifies, every win and net run rate margin counts. Teams like MI, CSK, and SRH are languishing at the bottom of the table with just 2 points, making their path to the playoffs increasingly difficult. With more than half the tournament yet to be played, the battle for the top four is wide open, and performances like GT’s in Match 23 will likely shape the playoff landscape.
