Mumbai Indians (MI) registered their fifth consecutive win in the IPL 2025 by defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Mumbai, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in Delhi yesterday. With these two wins, a significant change has occurred in the points table.

In Mumbai, after posting a huge total of 215/8 in 20 overs, MI bowled out LSG for 161 in 20 overs to win the game by a large margin of 54 runs. Will Jacks was the Player of the Match for his all-round brilliance.
However, Jasprit Bumrah had a fantastic outing by taking four wickets and also became the highest-ever wicket-taker for this franchise in the history of this competition. With the ball, Trent Boult also impressed with three wickets. Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav hit two quick fifties that played a huge role in posting that massive total on the board.
In the DC vs RCB game, DC were asked to bat first and, on a tricky surface, scored 162/8 in 20 overs. But RCB, despite some early hiccups, managed to pull off the chase in 18.3 overs with six wickets in hand.
Krunal Pandya was the star with both the bat and ball, especially for his outstanding unbeaten knock of 73* (47), where he eventually overshadowed Virat Kohli’s 51 (47) in that successful chase.
With the ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was impressive, taking three wickets, and Josh Hazlewood continued his dream run with two more wickets to his tally. Hence, after these results, RCB are in the top spot with 14 points in 10 games, with a net run rate of +0.521, while MI are now in the third spot with 12 points in 10 games, with a net run rate of +0.889.
However, DC are now in the fourth spot with 12 points in nine games, with a net run rate of +0.482, and LSG are in the sixth spot with 10 points in 10 games, with a net run rate of -0.325.
