IPL 2025: Updated Points Table after CSK vs PBKS Match 49

Chennai Super Kings hosted Punjab Kings in the 49th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday (April 30). For the first time in IPL history, CSK lost five consecutive matches at the Chepauk and also became the first team to be knocked out of IPL 2025.

They succumbed to their eighth loss in 10 matches and will not be able to qualify for the playoffs now. CSK remained rooted to the bottom of the points table with only four points. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings put on a brilliant display in the game, chasing down 191 runs with two balls and four wickets in hand, courtesy of half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh.

Yuzvendra Chahal also played a starring role in restricting CSK to 190 runs by picking up four wickets in the 19th over, including a hattrick. This win has propelled PBKS to second place in the points table. They have 13 points to show for their efforts with six wins in 10 matches as the race to make it to the top four heats up.

RCB continue to be on top of the points table with 14 points after 10 matches while Mumbai Indians are third with 12 points after playing as many games. Gujarat Titans are in fourth position but they have an extra game in hand compared to other teams and have a chance to directly top the table in their next outing.

Among other teams, DC and LSG are also in the hunt for a spot in top four with 12 and 10 points respectively.
