The race to win the Orange Cap in IPL 2025 resumed officially on Sunday (May 18) after the RCB vs KKR clash was washed out. Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings won their respective matches against the Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals respectively. With these wins, not only GT and PBKS, but RCB also qualified for the playoffs.

It was a comprehensive win for the Titans as they chased down 200 runs with 10 wickets in hand, thanks to a century from Sai Sudharsan and an unbeaten 93 from Shubman Gill. With a brilliant ton, Sudharsan has jumped to the spot in the list of players to score the most runs in IPL 2025. He has now amassed 617 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 156.99 with a century and five fifties to his name.
Gill is following him closely in second place with 601 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 155.69 with six half-centuries. Yashasvi Jaiswal of the Royals slammed a 50 off just 25 balls to take his tally to 523 runs in 13 matches. He is in third place in the race to win the Orange Cap this season.
Jos Buttler didn’t get to bat and he has slipped to sixth place. KL Rahul slammed a brilliant ton for Delhi Capitals and he jumped to seventh place in the list with 493 runs in 11 matches this season.
