Updated Orange Cap table after CSK vs PBKS Match 49

Chennai Super Kings became the first team to get knocked out of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday (April 30). They lost to Punjab Kings in the 49th match of the season, succumbing to their eighth defeat in 10 matches. Shreyas Iyer was the star for Punjab as he led from the front, scoring 72 off 41 balls in the 191-run chase.

Apart from him, Prabhsimran Singh also scored 54 runs off 36 balls to get the team off to a good start. Earlier, CSK posted 190 runs before getting bundled out in 19.2 overs with Yuzvendra Chahal picking up a hattrick. Sam Curran was the star for them scoring 88 runs off 47 deliveries with nine fours and four sixes but his efforts went in vain.

As far as the list of leading run-scorers in IPL 2025 is concerned, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer has jumped to 10th place, surpassing Aiden Markram of LSG with his 72-run knock. He has now scored 360 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 180.9.

Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans continues to be on the top of the pile with 456 from nine matches while Virat Kohli is just behind him with 453 runs in 10 outings. Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians and Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals are also in the race to win the Orange Cap this season with 427 and 426 runs respectively so far.

Jos Buttler of GT completes the top five of this list, with 406 runs so far even as his captain Shubman Gill is in seventh place, having amassed 389 runs in nine matches. LSG teammates Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh are in sixth and eighth place while KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals is in ninth position at the moment.
