IPL 2025: Ranking the top 3 MI players of the season

The five-time champions of the tournament, as usual, had an abysmal start to the season but were able to get back on track soon enough too. They played better cricket in the business end of the tournament, which was all due to some extra contributions from some specific players. Here are three such players to do so.

Suryakumar Yadav

Awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Season, Suryakumar Yadav had a Midas touch this season. He was right on point with his contributions in every game and almost stole the Orange Cap from Sai.

He smashed 717 runs at a strike rate of 167.91 and an average of 65.18 from 16 games. His numbers look mind-boggling for any player in the world. He also created a record as he got a score of more than 25 runs in each and every game of the season, the first and only to do so.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is always one of the best players in any team he plays for or is a part of. He was sensational this time around as well, even though he was returning after an injury.

Missing out on four games, he still found himself among the highest wicket-takers of the season. Playing 12 matches, he picked up 18 wickets with an average of 17.55 and an economy of just 6.67, the lowest for any bowler with more than 30 overs. A bad day for him also meant a bad day for the team, as it was displayed in Qualifier 2.

Naman Dhir

One of the most underrated names this season, but surely someone with immense impact on the game, Naman Dhir, was the finisher the Mumbai Indians desperately wanted and needed. Since Hardik was not firing properly, he had an even bigger task, which he handled beautifully.

Getting to bat in 12 innings of the 16 matches he played, he had a monstrous strike rate of 182.60 and scored over 252 runs. The majority of these runs came batting in the death overs, especially the 19th and 20th overs, displaying the importance of his runs.
