Ayush Mhatre
During the season, the Men in Yellow acquired two outstanding replacements who may wind up playing for them for many years to come. And, there’s no denying CSK will retain Ayush Mhatre ahead of the next season.
The 17-year-old has hammered 206 runs with a strike rate of 187.3 and an average of 34.33 in six innings. This season, Mhatre, who replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad, has the second-best strike rate (190.7) in the powerplay (at least 100 runs). Mhatre is expected to be Gaikwad's opening partner for the foreseeable future after impressing MS Dhoni.
Dewald Brevis
In the middle of the season, CSK also signed Dewald Brevis, and the South African has been lighting up the tournament ever since. The 22-year-old, who replaced Gurjapneet Singh, has amassed 168 runs with a strike rate of 164.7 and an average of 33.6 in five innings.
Brevis has improved his game over the past year, scoring three scores in the 40s and one in the 30s in just five innings. For the upcoming seasons, CSK may easily build their batting order around the right-hander, Gaikwad, and Mhatre because he is an ideal middle-overs batter.
Noor Ahmad
One of the few bright spots in a rather dark season for the Super Kings, Noor Ahmad was phenomenal this season with his spin bowling. It was very well a possibility that he could have finished the season with the Purple Cap on his head as he missed it by just one wicket.
He played all 14 games of the season for them and with a brilliant economy of 8.16, he scalped away 24 wickets. He also maintained an excellent average of 17 in this duration and was simply brilliant throughout the season.
