The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the Indian Premier League 2025. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the defending champions, are pitted against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the opening match on March 22 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

IPL 2025 will be played for more than two years from March 22 with the final taking place on May 25. The playoffs will take place in Hyderabad and Kolkata. The tournament will be played over 65 days and will feature 74 matches.
Rajasthan Royals, the champions of the inaugural edition of the tournament, will be looking to clinch their second title. They will be keen to replicate what the King of Spin Late great Shane Warne did for them in 2008.
Sanju Samson will continue to lead the Royals. The wicket-keeper batter has been playing for the franchise for some years. He was been part of the franchise from 2013-2015 and then from 2018 onwards, he has been playing for the Royals.
With the set core players retained by the franchise, Rajasthan Royals went with a very balanced approach in the auction. Some Players who are bought by the franchise - Jofra Archer for Rs 12.50 crore, Maheesh Theekshana for Rs 4.40 crore, Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs 5.25 crore, Nitish Rana for Rs 4.20 crore.
