IPL 2025: Predicting Mumbai Indians (MI) strongest XI vs GT in Eliminator

The league stage of the Indian Premier League 2025 has come to an end, and the four teams that have qualified this year are Punjab, Bengaluru, Gujarat and Mumbai. Punjab and Bengaluru have taken the top two spots and so will be playing Qualifier 1, while the Eliminator will be played between Gujarat and Mumbai.

The game is poised to be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on May 30. 

The Mumbai Indians had a terrible start to the 2025 Indian Premier League. The five-time champions lost to CSK and GT, won against the Kolkata Knight Riders, and lost to LSG and RCB in their opening five games. However, they subsequently began a winning run of six games, which helped them advance to the playoffs; these victories came against Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Hyderabad once again, Lucknow, and Rajasthan. 

They were then defeated by Gujarat, but later won against Delhi, but then again lost against Punjab in their final league stage game, which reduced them to 16 points. With eight wins under their belt and the league’s highest net run rate, Mumbai still could only manage fourth place by the end.

Even though they are placed lowest of the top four, no one is trying to underestimate the five-time champions, as they have found themselves enough in the playoffs to know what to do here. In such a long history of the tournament, no team has been able to win the trophy coming from the fourth place, but Mumbai has got that zip in them to make another history.
