IPL 2025: Predicting Gujarat Titans (GT) strongest XI vs MI in Eliminator

The Indian Premier League 2025 league stage is already over, and the four clubs that made it this year are Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gujarat, and Punjab. Gujarat and Mumbai will play in the eliminator, while Punjab and Bengaluru, who secured the top two berths, will play in Qualifier 1.

The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh is set to host the match on May 30.

What should have been an IPL 2025 top-of-the-table finish was spoiled by the Gujarat Titans themselves. After losing to PBKS at the beginning of the season, this team went on to win four straight games against Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. After losing to LSG, they defeated DC and KKR. 

Their other loss came against Rajasthan, but then they went on to defeat Delhi and Mumbai. But after losing to LSG and CSK in their last two league games, GT lost the top status they had for the majority of the season. Finally, the Titans ended the league stage in third place with 18 points from 14 games, nine victories, and five defeats.

The Gujarat Titans were the most dominant force in this season of the league for the majority of the days. However, they seem to be losing their touch at the wrong time. To add to their problems, one of the pillars of their winning streak, Jos Buttler, has left for national duties, and that would be ringing alarm bells for the team as they were heavily dependent on the top three for all the runs.

They have called a backup in Kusal Mendis for Buttler, but the pedigree can’t be matched. They do have a good middle order, but it has been quite fragile as well. Not getting too many chances in the league stage can come back to bite them now.
