The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season continues to deliver thrilling moments as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a commanding victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 6. KKR chased down the target of 152 runs in just 17.3 overs, winning by 8 wickets with 15 balls to spare. The match highlighted the brilliance of Quinton de Kock, who played an unbeaten knock of 97* off 61 balls. His outstanding performance earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match title.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals posted a total of 151/9 in their 20 overs. The team started with promise, thanks to Dhruv Jurel’s 33 off 28 balls and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s quick 29 off 24 deliveries.
However, consistent breakthroughs by the KKR bowlers restricted them from reaching a more competitive score. Varun Chakaravarthy (2/17) and Moeen Ali (2/23) delivered exceptional spells, dismantling RR's batting lineup. In response, Kolkata Knight Riders had a dominant start with Quinton de Kock taking the charge. His aggressive knock of 97*, supported by Angkrish Raghuvanshi who contributed 22 off 17 balls, left RR’s bowlers struggling. Despite efforts from Wanindu Hasaranga (1/34) and Tushar Deshpande (0/7), KKR’s batters comfortably chased down the target.
