For DC to succeed, players like Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, Mitchell Starc, and Harry Brook need to perform well. Starc was a key player for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last season when they won the title. In the auction, DC had options like Shreyas Iyer, who could have been targeted purely for his captaincy skills.
However, they chose to invest in KL Rahul, who will be a crucial player as a wicketkeeper-batter. DC also signed Faf du Plessis for ₹2 crore. He has experience leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and could be a captaincy candidate.
However, considering his age and the fact that he is a foreign player, he might not be the preferred choice. The same applies to Harry Brook, despite him recently being named England’s new vice-captain in white-ball formats.
