IPL 2025: How to book tickets online and offline?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most popular franchise leagues in the world, and the upcoming season promises to deliver the same excitement and thrill for fans. All 10 teams have built strong squads, and global cricket stars will be in action for their respective franchises.

Like every season, there will be high demand for tickets, which can be purchased both online and offline. However, in today's digital age, online booking has become the preferred and more convenient method for fans. 

While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to announce specific ticketing details for this season, past trends indicate that online platforms will be the primary option. To book tickets online, fans need to visit an official ticketing website such as BookMyShow, Paytm, or IPLT20.com. 

They must select the match they want to attend, choose the stadium and seating category, and proceed to checkout. Payment can be made using debit/credit cards, UPI, or net banking. Once the transaction is successful, fans receive a confirmation via email or SMS containing all necessary details.

For offline ticket purchases, fans must visit the nearest stadium box office or an authorized retail outlet. They need to check ticket availability for their preferred match and seating category before providing a valid ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, or passport. 

Once the seats are selected, payment can be made via cash, card, or digital wallet. After confirmation, fans can collect their physical tickets. The tournament kicks off on March 22 with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. 

A total of 74 matches will be played, featuring 10 teams competing through a league stage followed by a four-team playoff. Matches will be held in the home cities of the franchises across India, though some teams may split their home fixtures between multiple venues. The 2025 edition will take place across 13 venues, adding to the excitement of the fans.

Ticket sales for IPL 2025 are expected to open towards the end of February or early March, following the pattern of previous seasons. Fans can keep an eye on official platforms for announcements regarding ticket availability and booking details.
