IPL 2025: Full list of captains for the upcoming edition

The world’s biggest league, the IPL, is back in India, and the excitement is amazing. Get ready for thrilling matches and endless entertainment starting 22nd March. As the IPL dates get closer, franchises are expecting another successful season and are announcing the names of their captains, building excitement among fans. Here’s a complete list of captains :

Ruturaj will continue to lead CSK after having taken captaincy over from MS Dhoni in the 2024 edition. Ruturaj Gaikwad will aim to make their mark in their significant impact and will try to win another title under the guidance of Stephen fleming 

Hardik Pandya was appointed captain before the 2024 season, replacing  Rohit  Sharma. Ahead of the 2024 season.  Hardik Pandya is an exceptional all-rounder who brings outstanding skills to the team.

Punjab Kings have announced Shreyas Lyer as their new captain, a move that is expected to bring stability and leadership to the team. Shreyas Iyer-led KKR to victory in the IPL last year.

Rishabh Pant was bought for 27 crore and will now lead the Lucknow SuperGiants. With his explosive batting style, he will look forward to bringing home their first IPL title this season.

Ajinkya  Rahane has taken over as the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders following Shreyas' departure and with his leadership Skills will help the team to defend KKR’s title in the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

Sanju Samson will continue as the Rajasthan Royals captain, aiming to take the team forward deeper into the playoffs, and will try to win another IPL trophy.

Pat Cummins will continue to lead the Sunrisers Hyderabad team after their terrific season last year. He’s the only foreign captain this season.  

Rajat Patidar was appointed as the new captain of their franchise, bringing his leadership experience to the forefront. He has the experience of leading Madhya Pradesh. 

Shubhman Gill will lead the team once again. Delhi Capitals are yet to announce their new captain but may appoint KL Rahul or Axar Patel, both of whom are experienced players and capable leaders.
