Delhi Capitals will be starting their campaign of IPL 2025 with a banger against the Lucknow Super Giants on March 24 at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. DC will be on the journey to finally win their first title of the tournament.

The poster boy of Delhi for many years now, Rishabh Pant has moved on from the team now and so the new leadership role saw the emergence of Axar Patel as the new skipper of the side. The team management did a pretty great job at the auctions in getting some quality players on the side. They happen to have one of the deadliest bowling attacks among all other teams and it might be a tough challenge this time around to beat them.

1. Too many top-order batters

The team management went heavy on the batters at the auction table but what it meant was they now have a plethora of top-order batters at their disposal with the likes of Jake Fraser-McGurk, Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Abhishek Porel and more. This might eventually result in all of them playing out of their original positions which can affect their performance as well.

2. Lack of leadership experience

Since Rahul said no to leadership duties, the team management went with the other option, Axar Patel. However, the problem in this situation is that he does not have much experience to show his name. He has led in a few games here and there but leading a franchise on a full-time basis is something new for him. He might receive some help with the presence of Faf and Rahul, who have had plenty of experience leading their IPL sides.

3. Lack of all-rounders

The leader of the pack is a solid all-rounder who has played a key role in winning trophies for Team India. However, unlike the Indian side, he does not have any other quality all-rounders around him who straight away make their place right into the playing XI. Hence, finding the correct team balance might be an issue for the team.
