IPL 2025: 3 Key players for RR in this season

Rajasthan Royals (RR) entered the mega auction with six retained players and added 14 more to their squad for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). The star Indian wicketkeeper-batter will once again be a key player in determining RR's success in the upcoming season. Sanju Samson, who led the team to the final in the 2022 edition, saw RR fall short in the second playoff against SRH last year. Fans will be eager to see him lead the team again.

With the bat, Sanju led by example in 2024, surpassing the 500-run mark for the first time in his IPL career. He scored 531 runs in 15 matches, averaging 48.27 with a strike rate of 153.47. In 2023, he delivered a sensational performance, scoring 625 runs in 14 games at an average of 48.08 and a strike rate of 163.61. That season included five fifties and one century.

However, by his standards, the 2024 season was relatively average. He managed 435 runs in 15 matches at an average of 31.07 and a strike rate of 155.91, with one fifty and one century. Jaiswal created history in 2023 by smashing the fastest fifty in IPL history, off just 13 balls, against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In the shortest format, quick runs at the top are crucial. Jaiswal’s explosive starts will once again be key to shaping RR’s fortunes in the upcoming season.
