1. Noor Ahmad

There have been only four players in the history of IPL auctions for whom CSK has spent INR 10 crore or more. Noor joined the likes of Deepak Chahar, Ben Stokes, and Daryl Mitchell to become one of the most expensive players for CSK at the IPL auction. CSK fought a bidding war against arch-rival Mumbai Indians to pick Noor for a price of INR 10 crore.

In Major League Cricket 2024, Noor was a part of the Texas Super Kings, a franchise owned by CSK’s owners. He was the leading wicket-taker for the team and took a total of nine wickets in just four matches at an average of 13.44.

At just 20 years of age, Noor has played in almost all the T20 leagues in the world and brings a decent amount of experience. He made his IPL debut in 2023 with Gujarat Titans and has taken a total of 24 wickets in 23 games at an average of 27.45.

2. Rahul Tripathi

The 33-year-old middle-order batter was bought at a price of INR 3.4 crore by CSK. Tripathi will likely play the same role Ajinkya Rahane did for CSK in the last two seasons. Whenever he has scored more than 300 runs in IPL, his strike rate has always been above 140. CSK will be hoping for a similar performance in the next three seasons.

In Tripathi, CSK have someone who possesses the capability to play according to the situation. He can be an aggressive batter if the situation demands and can play the anchor role if required as well. In 95 matches in the IPL, Tripathi has scored 2236 runs at an average of 27.26 and a strike rate of 139.31.

3. Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the skipper, was retained by CSK for a price of INR 18 crore. He was appointed the captain of the side last year, and CSK won and lost seven games each under his leadership. Gaikwad has a lot to prove in the next three seasons with CSK. His performance here as a batter and captain can make or break his IPL career.

Gaikwad has already proved his mettle as a batter in the IPL with his performances over the years. Since making his debut in 2020, he has scored 2380 runs in 66 IPL games at an average of 41.75 and a strike rate of 136.86. He has scored 500-plus runs in three out of his five seasons with CSK. In 2021, Gaikwad scored 635 runs in 16 games and won the orange cap as well.
