IPL 2025: 3 Key battles to watch out for in the MI vs SRH Match 33

A heavyweight clash of probably two of the best and the most attacking batting sides of the IPL, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, will be against each other at the Wankhede Stadium on April 17. The following key battles will fuel the fire and make this game interesting.

Abhishek Sharma vs Jasprit Bumrah

Abhishek Sharma is coming after smashing a historical knock where he had smashed the highest score by an Indian in the IPL in the last game. Jasprit Bumrah, on the other hand, had a rare off-game in the previous match, which was also his second game of the tournament.

Between the match-up of these two, Bumrah, as expected, has been dominating the proceedings. He has bowled 17 deliveries to him so far, where he has let him score just 10 runs without even a single boundary and has got him out twice in the process as well.

Travis Head vs Mitchell Santner

Travis Head was reintroduced and revived in the IPL in the last season, and ever since, he has been dominating every opposition. Mitchell Santner was bought by Mumbai Indians in this season, and quietly, he has been doing his job neatly in the games he has played so far.

Where Head has been decimating almost every bowler he faces, he has usually had trouble with left-handed pacers. Though Santner is a spinner, he picked it up, and the limited interaction between the two was led by him. He bowled just three balls to him in the last season, where he gave just one run and got him out too.

Tilak Varma vs Harshal Patel

Tilak Varma is the man in form for the Mumbai Indians as he is coming after smashing two back-to-back half-centuries after he was retired out in a game against Lucknow. Harshal Patel is having another good season with the ball, having scalped eight wickets already in five matches.

Tilak has faced just 14 deliveries from Harshal so far, where he has smacked him for 31 runs at a strike rate of 221.4, with the help of three boundaries and two sixes. He has not lost his wicket to him even once so far and would be hoping for it to remain the same way in this game too.
