Touted as one of the heavyweight clashes, Kolkata Knight Riders will be facing Gujarat Titans in the 39th game of the season. Even though Kolkata has looked out of form in the last few games, these player battles are supposed to add excitement and make the game interesting.

Jos Buttler vs Varun Chakravarthy

Buttler has been a great player in the IPL and is surely having another fantastic season. In the last game, he was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant knock of 97. Varun Chakravarthy also has been having a pretty decent season, although he and the team would have liked a much better performance.

In eight innings, Buttler has faced 49 deliveries from Varun, where he has scored 76 runs at a strike rate of 155, with the help of seven boundaries and three sixes. In the process, he has lost his wicket five times as well, and so neither of them has been able to completely dominate the other.

Andre Russell vs Rashid Khan

Andre Russell used to be a name to be feared, and any total would look very small once he was on the pitch and got going. However, he has not looked in good touch, though. Similar has been the season for Rashid as well. He has not been able to pick wickets as he usually was able to do so.

The duo have come against each other in 15 innings, playing 58 deliveries and having scored 90 runs off them, which includes five boundaries and nine sixes. However, Russell has also his wicket to him on five of those occasions.

Shubman Gill vs Sunil Narine

Under the captaincy of Shubhman Gill, Gujarat is having a terrific season, and they are placed top of the table. He has also been contributing well with the bat. Sunil Narine, on the other hand, is having a decent season too. Although he hasn’t done anything extraordinary so far.

These two have had limited interaction, but from that, Narine seems to take the edge over Gill. He has bowled 12 balls to him, where he has let him score just 13 runs with the help of just one boundary while taking his wicket twice already.
