The Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians will be playing against each other at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 29. The two teams have a good history between them, but there are also some player battles to watch out for. Here are three such player battles.
Rohit Sharma vs Kagiso Rabada
Rohit Sharma and Kagiso Rabada are two premier players from their nations, and match-ups between them are a sight to witness. They are both absolutely great at their jobs and marquee players for their IPL sides.
The two have come across each other on seven occasions, where Rohit has faced 27 of his balls, scoring 38 runs with five boundaries and two sixes off him. Batting with a strike rate of 140, he has lost his wicket twice, and the contest seems even between the two.
Suryakumar Yadav vs Rashid Khan
Suryakumar Yadav has been the most innovative and improved Indian T20 cricketer in the last decade and has been leading the nation in the format as a result of that. Rashid Khan has also been the absolute best at his job, deceiving batters with spin.
Unlike expectations, Rashid has not even been able to match Surya with his performances. He has given away 86 runs off his 58 deliveries, inclusive of 11 boundaries and two sixes. He has not been able to get him out even once.
Shubhman Gill vs Deepak Chahar
Shubhman Gill’s improvement in the tournament is quite evident as he gets to lead a champion team from such a young age. Deepak Chahar, on the other hand, has been in and out of the game in the last few years due to injuries but has been an exceptional bowler throughout.
The contest between the two is quite even, with Gill having faced 55 of his deliveries and having scored 78 runs off them, which is inclusive of 10 boundaries and two sixes. In the 10 innings he has faced, he has lost his wicket four times to Chahar.
