IPL 2025: 3 Game changers in RR squad

The inaugural champions of the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals, have been brilliant in the last few years with their performances. They start the season extremely well but somehow tend to lose their track towards the business end of the tournament, and as a result, they have not been able to fare well in the playoffs.

However, to change the pattern and break the curse, they have also changed the squads in the mega auctions ahead of IPL 2025. They have some great players who can help them change the game and win matches. Let us take a look at three such players from their squad.

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal

The southpaw has taken the world by storm with his performances in the last few years. He has been scoring consistently for Team India across formats. Prior to that, he did the same for his IPL side, the Rajasthan Royals.

Yashasvi opens the innings for his team, and his attacking gameplay makes his team the favourites to emerge victorious right from the first ball. He has played a total of 53 matches, where at a strike rate of 150.60, he has amassed 1607 runs already.

He has the complete capability to turn the tide of the game on his own and win matches for his team effortlessly. Now, with more exposure and experience, he certainly becomes a much more dangerous player for the opposition. He will be looking forward to this season to win the title for his team.

2. Jofra Archer

Archer has shown what value he possesses in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League. The express pace bowler, known for his immaculate line and length and his extremely dangerous short balls, was a force to reckon with that year.

He had scalped 20 wickets with an economy of just 6.55 and smashed 113 runs at a strike rate of 179.36 down the order from the 14 games he played that year. He was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Season award for the same in that season.

Following such a spectacular season, he kept suffering through an injury, which continuously kept him out of competitive cricket. He did make a comeback in 2023 but was injured again shortly afterward. Now, with him completely fit again, the Royals would be looking for his comeback to the team.

3. Sanju Samson

The skipper of the side truly emerges as a leader who tries his best to lead the side from the front with his performances. He has even been in great form, smashing centuries against the Proteas in the backyard for the Indian team.

His numbers are phenomenal when it comes to IPL as well. From the 168 matches he has played in his IPL career, he has smacked 4419 runs at a strike rate of 138.96. He was also one of the highest run-scorers of the tournament in the last season, amassing 531 runs from 16 games.

Now having lost Jos Buttler from the side, he is all set to open the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal and soak up more responsibilities. He would be looking to continue with the same intent he has been showing in International Cricket for his nation in the shortest format of the game.
