IPL 2023: 3 Players who can replace Jaydev Unadkat in LSG Squad

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffered a blow as Jaydev Unadkat got ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing IPL due to a left shoulder injury. The incident happen when he was bowling in the nets. While bowling from around the wicket, his left foot got stuck in the rope and had a nasty fall on his bowling elbow.

However, as per recent reports, Unadkat might get fully fit before the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC). LSG are currently in the third position in the table with 10 points in nine games. So, for the remainder of IPL, the franchise will look to add some player as a replacement for the injured pacer. 

Here are three players who can replace Jaydev Unadkat in the LSG squad for the remainder of IPL 2023: 

1. Chintan Gaja

The right-arm medium pacer from Gujarat can be a good replacement for Unadkat in the LSG squad. In Ranji Trophy 2022-23, Chintan Gaja picked up 29 wickets in 7 matches. After that, Gaja picked up nine wickets in five matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022-23. However, he was not a part of the IPL 2023 auction.

2. Ishan Porel

This right-arm medium-fast bowler from Bengal can be a good addition for LSG for the remainder of the ongoing IPL. Ishan Porel got unsold in the IPL 2023 auction while his base price was INR 20 Lakhs. In the last season, he was with Punjab Kings (PBKS). Till now, he has played only one match in IPL and grabbed one wicket. In Ranji Trophy 2022-23, Porel picked up 27 wickets in 10 matches.   

3. Varun Aaron

This experience bowler can be another option to replace Jaydev Unadkat in the LSG squad. Varun Aaron got unsold in the IPL 2023 auction while his base price was INR 50 Lakhs. In the last season, he was with Gujarat Titans (GT). In two matches, he took two wickets. However, he has experience playing 52 matches in the IPL over the years. In those matches, Aaron has picked up 44 wickets, at an economy of 8.94.
