The second leg of the Indian Premier League is all set to get underway tomorrow, September 19, with defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings crossing swords in a mouth-watering encounter. The India leg of the tournament saw Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore dominate the proceedings. Mumbai Indians too picked up the momentum after a slow start.

The aforementioned teams occupy the top four spots in the points table. With almost half the tournament completed, the bottom-placed teams need to pull up their socks from the first game itself. Having already lost a lot of matches, teams like Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad cannot afford any more losses. They need to be right on the money from game one.

Having missed out on the title in 2020, table-toppers Delhi Capitals will be keen to go the distance this time around. Royal Challengers Bangalore look a very strong contender after some impressive signings while Chennai Super Kings enjoyed a smooth ride in the first leg and will be one of the teams to beat in UAE. Two times defending champions Mumbai Indians are always in the hunt for the title.

Coming to individual performances, Shikhar Dhawan (DC) leads the charts of most runs with 380 runs to his name in seven games, followed by KL Rahul (PBKS) and Faf du Plessis (CSK). With the ball, Harshal Patel (RCB) is the leading wicket-taker with 17 scalps while Avesh Khan and Chris Morris are placed second and third with 14 wickets to their names.
