Rajasthan Royals have officially signed Rassie van der Dussen for the rest of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The franchise has lost four of its overseas players since the start of the season. While Jofra Archer was never a certainty after undergoing surgery, Ben Stokes injured his finger and was ruled out of the tournament.

Later, Liam Livingstone flew back home citing bubble fatigue as the reason while Andrew Tye left due to the rising COVID-19 cases in India. This led to the team having only four overseas players in Mustafizur Rahman, Jos Buttler, David Miller and Chris Morris.

Finally, they now have signed South Africa's in-form batsman Rassie van der Dussen. He has joined the team according to Cricbuzz and is currently undergoing the mandatory quarantine period. Earlier, it was reported that he was awaiting visa clearance and had to clear the fitness test to be signed as replacement.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will be playing against the Mumbai Indians on Thursday in the first game of the double-header day. They have won two matches so far after five matches and are currently at the seventh position in the points table. However, if they win the game against the five-time champions, the Royals will climb to the fourth position.

The team will be hoping to put up a better show in this game and their fans will be praying that none of their overseas players pulls out or gets injured at this stage of the tournament. Meanwhile, there is still no confirmed date about the availability of Van der Dussen.
