The two most successful teams in IPL history are going to face off for the first time in IPL 2021. Both CSK and MI have got off to contrasting starts in IPL 2021. Chennai Super Kings are placed at the helm of the points table with five wins in six games. The defending champions, on the other hand, have looked rusty and have lost three and won as many matches. The problem for Mumbai has been their batting as neither of the batsmen has looked in any sort of form. However, Quinton de Kock batted well in the last game and Mumbai Indians will hope that he capitalize on this form. Other than him, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya need to find some momentum as we’re heading into the halfway mark in IPL 2021 and MI wouldn’t want to be left too far behind. The bowling for Mumbai Indians has been the reason for their three wins and Rohit will hope that his bowlers can carry on their good run against CSK as well.

CSK owe their success to the top order as Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis have been magnificent. Down the order, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran have batted well. However, the middle order has not done much and it will be interesting to see how they perform when the top order doesn’t score runs. CSK bowlers have been very tidy throughout the season.

Pitch report - Both the matches played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in IPL 2021 have been high scoring games as the wicket has been very flat and hasn’t offered anything to the bowlers.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians dropped Ishan Kishan for Nathan Coulter-Nile in the last game. We expect Ishan Kishan to come back into the side in place of Jayant Yadav

Quinton de Kock

De Kock is the sort of batsman that will get the scoreboard galloping by the time he is at the wicket. He scored a half-century in the last game thus Mumbai would want him to capitalize on this form and take the team forward.

Probable XI

Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult

Chennai Super Kings

MS Dhoni is not a believer of too many changes and we expect him to field the same XI in tomorrow’s game.

X-Factor

Faf du Plessis

Faf du Plessis has been terrific in the tournament and is the second-highest run-getter with 270 runs in six games. He’s been very consistent and can be backed to continue his good run.

Probable XI

Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c/wk), Sam Curran, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Lungi Ngidi/Imran Tahir
