Kolkata Knight Riders will resume their Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Both teams had contrasting results in the first leg. While RCB won five of their seven games, KKR could manage just two wins. It’s a very important game for both teams. RCB would be keen to pick up from where they left in the India leg while KKR can’t afford to lose too many games now.
Meanwhile, KKR wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik is nearing a historic landmark. If the former skipper can score 54 runs in the match, he will join the elite list of batsmen who have scored 4000 runs in the IPL. Karthik so far has played 203 IPL games and scored 3,946 runs. RCB skipper Virat Kohli leads the charts of most runs in IPL history. Kohli, who plays his 200th game today has 6076 runs, followed by Delhi Capitals' Shikhar Dhawan (5577), and Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina (5495).
Karthik represented teams likes Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and Gujarat Lions before moving to Kolkata Knight Riders. Karthik's best season came with Mumbai Indians in 2013 where he scored 510 runs.
