Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq’s health condition is not good. For the same reason, he was taken to a hospital in Lahore after he had some issues in the heart on Monday (27 September). Turns out it was serious than what his family members and well-wishers anticipated as it was a massive heart attack, which the former right-hand batter had.

Inzamam has also undergone an immediate angioplasty surgery and is under the supervision of the medical staff. The 51-year-old had been complaining of chest pain for the past three days or so and he had to be taken to hospital for the checkups. The initial few tests didn’t reveal if there was a major problem. But further reports indicated that he had a minor heart attack after which he went under the knife.

But there is no need to press the panic button as Inzamam’s agent confirmed that his condition is stable and he is doing okay under the observation of medical staff, as per a report in Cricket Pakistan.

As soon the news went viral of the former Pakistan skipper’s health condition, cricketing experts, his former teammates, and various other players wished Inzamam for a speedy recovery.

Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle also took to Twitter and wished the legendary cricketer a speedy recovery. “Wishing Inzamam-ul-Haq all the very best, that he recovers completely and remains part of our game for many, many years.”

Inzamam has been in news recently for the resumption of the bilateral ties between India and Pakistan. The two teams last played a three-match ODI series way back in 2012-13. The two Asian giants face off against each other only during ICC events due to political tension.

But Inzamam feels cricket can bring these two nations together. He also feels it is the biggest rivalry in the sport and said Indo-Pak matches are essential in keeping the spectators hooked.
