Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the mainstays of this Indian batting. While players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant brings a lot of flamboyance, Cheteshwar Pujara adds a lot of stability to the team. He can dig in and take the life out of the opposition bowlers, making things easier for the other players. Pujara, who was hit on the right hand while batting in the first inning of the second Test against England has not taken the field on Day 2 which has made the Indian fans concerned about his fitness.

"Cheteshwar Pujara was hit on his right hand while batting on Day 1 of the second Paytm Test against England. He felt some pain later. He will not be fielding today," read an update from the BCCI.

Pujara took a lot of body blows against Australia, especially in the final Test at Brisbane, but held fort and took India to a magnificent victory. India looks to be in complete command in the second Test. A magnificent hundred from Rohit Sharma and vital contribution from Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant helped India to post a strong 329 in their first innings. The Indian bowlers then ran through the English top order to restrict them to 82-5 at the time of writing. The pitch is not easy to bat and it looks that India might get a massive first inning lead. It will take a mammoth task from England to make a comeback in this match.
