Nothing seems to be going right for Chennai so far in the Indian T20 league 2022. They have now lost the first three games of this edition. Punjab toppled them rather easily as the Mayank Agarwal-led side beat the yellow army by 54 runs. Thus, Chennai are now languishing at the bottom of the table. Ravindra Jadeja hasn't really had the best start to his captaincy stint.

During the first innings, Punjab lost two early wickets and were seemingly in a lot of trouble. This forced their opener, Shikhar Dhawan, to anchor the innings. He played well for his 33. However, it was Liam Livingstone who stole the show, and showed everyone why Punjab spent a hefty price to acquire his services.

The English all-rounder scored a brilliant 60 from just 32 balls. Post his dismissal, Punjab once again had a batting collapse as Chennai's bowlers managed to pull things back. Nevertheless, they still ended up scoring 180. As far as Chennai's bowlers are concerned, then Chris Jordan and Dwaine Pretorius took two wickets each.

In reply, Chennai lost four wickets in the powerplay overs and lost all their top-order batters rather cheaply. Punjab's bowlers were all over the four-time champions. However, Shivam Dube ignited a glimmer of hope as he starts to play the big shots. He joined hands with MS Dhoni to put on a 62-run partnership.

Despite scoring 57 off 30 deliveries, the target seemed just too much for Chennai. At the end, they fell short of the target by 54 runs. Several fans took to Twitter to troll Chennai, and post some hilarious memes. These memes became viral in no time. Some of them trolled Dhoni for his slow knock as well.
