The 50th game of the Indian T20 league 2022 saw Delhi beat Hyderabad by 21 runs. Their performance was clinical, to say the least. As for the orange army, they will have to do a lot of thinking as this is their third consecutive loss.

In what turned out to be poetic justice, it was David Warner who stole the show. He showed no mercy on his former franchise as he scripted an ideal comeback story. The Aussie opener scored a brilliant 92 from 58 balls in the first innings. He struck 12 fours and three sixes. However, the likes of Mitchell Marsh and Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant failed to get a big score.

While the all-rounder could only score 10 runs, the keeper-batter was dismissed after scoring a 16-ball 26. However, Rovman Powell was absolutely sensational as he played the role of a finisher to perfection. The Windies batter scored an unbeaten 67, and took 35 balls for the same. He hit three fours and six sixes.

As a matter of fact, he hit 19 runs in the final over of the first innings. This propelled the Delhi-based franchise to a superb score of 207. Barring Bhuvneshwar Kumar, none of Hyderabad's bowlers could contain the flow of runs as they were taken to the cleaners. During the second innings, Hyderabad lost their first wicket in the form of Abhishek Sharma, who departed in the second over.

Kane Williamson's poor form continues as he was only able to score four runs, and took 11 balls for the same. The fact that he ate so many deliveries during a high-scoring game wasn't really ideal for his side. After which, Aiden Markram played some eye-pleasing shots and scored a 25-ball 42. However, Khaleel Ahmed took his wicket during the 13th over.

Although it seemed like Delhi would bundle the Williamson-led side rather cheaply, Nicholas Pooran salvaged some pride. The newly-appointed limited-overs skipper of the West Indies scored a breathtaking 62 off just 34 balls. He gave the Hyderabad fans a glimmer of hope before being dismissed in the 18th over. As far as Delhi's bowlers are concerned, Khaleel Ahmed was fantastic as he took three wickets in his four overs, while giving 30 runs. At the end, Hyderabad fell short of their target by 21 runs.
