Indian Cricket Board announces list of players to go under the hammer at Indian T20 League 2023 auctions

In a most recent and major piece of news, the Indian Cricket Board has announced the list of players whose names will be there in the auction for the next season of the Indian T20 League. The auction for the 16^th edition of the cash-rich T20 tournament. Notably, the auction for the upcoming edition of the tournament will take place later this month on the 23^rd of December.

The Indian Cricket Board has finalized the name of 405 players for the mini-auction in Kochi. Talking about the initial updates on the list of players, 369 cricketers were selected for the auction by 10 teams from the initial list of 991 individuals. Later on, 36 more players were requested by the teams to participate in the auction.

So now, there are 405 names to feature in the upcoming auction for the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League.

Out of these 405 shortlisted cricketers, the number of Indian names is 273. Whereas on the other hand, 132 foreign cricketers have been picked to the list of players supposed to go under the hammer.

Speaking of the 132 foreign players, 4 belong to the associate teams.

Here’s a look at the bifurcation of players according to their current stature in cricket:

1. Total Capped Players – 119
2. Total uncapped players – 282, and
3. Players from associate teams – 4

There are 19 foreign cricketers who have a reserve price of INR 2 crores which is the highest price slot for them.

11 cricketers will have a base price of INR 1.5 crores. Whereas the number of players in the bracket of INR 1 crore as a base price is 20. The two Indians in the bracket of 1 crore are Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey.
